Realistically speaking, every day should be a celebration of beautiful women all around the world and not just on March 8. The theme for this year's Women's Day is DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality. Gender equality is something that is sadly not yet achieved in the world, but these women on our list are the ones who are surely making a great effort. They're all incredibly motivational and inspiring, but do they inspire you?

Margaret Eleanor Atwood is a Canadian poet, novelist, literary critic, teacher, environmental activist, and inventor. Famous for her sci-fi dystopian book The Handmaid's Tale, she won numerous prestigious awards for her literary contributions.

She's a feminist, is politically involved, advocates for female rights and gender equality, animal rights and environmental issues.


Greta Thunberg, the 18-year-old climate activist has been nominated for the Nobel Prize multiple times. Ever since her teen years she's been actively fighting against climate change starting with strikes and UN speeches. She's known for challenging world leaders to take immediate action.

She sailed across the Atlantic ocean in an eco friendly racing yacht to raise awareness about emissions.


Vandana Shiva is an Indian scholar, environmental activist, food independence advocate, ecofeminist and anti-globalisation author.

She's written over 20 books and is a member and leader of various anti GMO, socialist, scientific and anti-global organizations.


Amani Ballour is a Syrian-born pediatrician and an advocate of women's and children's rights. She directed the Oscar-nominated documentary The Cave, which depicts the struggles of running an underground hospital during the Syrian civil war.

Became the first and only woman to manage a hospital in Syria during a war but ended up being exiled.
